Colchester Elementary School’s media center is located directly in the heart of the school.  It was designed to be a sunny area where students can sit comfortably and read their book or magazine.  The library has over 14,000 books for the students to choose from, as well as numerous children’s magazines for them to flip through and enjoy.  We also have shelves dedicated to materials that teachers, as well as parents, may find helpful.  The media center has a computer lab with 24 computers for the students to use, as well as a SmartBoard to assist in teaching the children to become more comfortable using a computer.

Each of the 31 classes has the opportunity to come in once a week to have a media lesson and to exchange books. We hope that they are also learning to love going to the library and to appreciate all that libraries have to offer.
