The Jack Jackter Intermediate School Library Media Center serves approximately 684 students in grades three through five. The library media center is staffed by a full-time library media specialist and a full-time library paraprofessional. The Library Media Center (LMC) is open from 8:15 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. daily.
The library has a collection of almost 18,000 print materials and a DVD/Video collection of almost 400 items. The library collection supports the current curriculum as well as providing materials for students' personal interests. Several subscription databases are available. See the library staff or a faculty member for user names and passwords.
Hours:
The Library Media Center is open to students from 8:10 to 3:05. No student is allowed in the LMC unless an LMC staff member is present.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Colchester Public School District Library Resources and Information Technology Program is to create a supportive educational environment that nurtures teaching and learning and helps students develop the skills they will need for lifelong, independent learning.
Circulation:
Books are circulated for one week and can be renewed. Students are encouraged to ask the library staff, teachers and peers for suggestions.
