Students enrolled at Jack Jackter Intermediate School are given many opportunities to become involved in after school club programs, Math and Junior Achievement groups, jazz band, Lego Robotics, school store and a number of HOT School Production Companies which enhance our curriculum.
Any student may participate in our annual JJIS Invention Convention! Students design an original invention to solve a real problem. They research and develop their solution into a working prototype. Then, they present this to our volunteer judges and some go on to compete at the Connecticut Invention Convention!
All students learn about this opportunity at an all school assembly in January. Those who are interested return the “Intent to Invent” and receive a detailed information packet so they can begin their secret work at home. Inventor’s workshops are provided at school to help Inventors learn the critical thinking and creative imagination processes they need to succeed with this exciting and challenging, real-world problem solving.
