Four (4) credits of English are required for graduation. English courses are offered at Levels 1, 2 and 3 during each year of high school. Advanced Placement level courses are offered in grades 11 and 12. The department also offers five elective courses: Reading Strategies is open to grades 9-12; Research Writing and Creative Writing are open to grades 11 and 12; and Journalism and Jazz and Poetry are open to grades 10-12.
