Colchester Public Schools provide students with exemplary instruction. District curriculum guides, based on the common core, set the standards for student learning and define the skills, knowledge and understandings we believe all students need in order to become educated citizens.
Our district's mission statement reveals the emphasis we place on meeting the needs of every learner. Each year our teachers examine ways to help all students access the course content, and all teachers dedicate themselves to learning and growing in their profession.
Differentiation of instruction includes enrichment classes at the intermediate school to meet the learning needs of our most talented students, as well as opportunities for advanced learning in Algebra I courses in middle school and Advanced Placement, UCONN credit, and Three Rivers partnership courses in high school. Many co-curricular activities serve to enhance students' learning experiences as they travel on their educational journey in Colchester.
Sincerely,
Barbara Gilbert, Director of Teaching and Learning
