Senior Capstone Project:

What is Senior Capstone?

Senior Capstone is a class that takes real world learning to a whole new level, by giving you the opportunity to go out and get experience in a field or work place of your choosing. Capstone allows you to take part in something that you enjoy doing and to help further your knowledge in the real world atmosphere. 

Field Work Information:

  • Must have a minimum of 20 hours or more with an expert
  • Your mentor cannot have a criminal record
  • You must complete 2 journals before, during, and after you start your work. 
  • Prior to starting your internship, you must write a proposal and a letter of intent. 
  • You cannot be paid for working.
  • You may take a pre-approved full day or two half days from school for field work.
  • At the end of your Capstone experience you must complete a research paper of your choice relating to your internship, portfolio and a presentation. You have 15 minutes to present your findings and your project to a panel of judges. 

Grading: 

Learning Experience (hours):  30%
Journaling:        20%
Research Paper:  20%
Panel Presentation:      15%
