At WJJMS we offer three seasons of sports programs. In the fall, we run our Interscholastic Soccer program and Club Cross Country (an After School Club). In the winter, we run both an Intramural & Interscholastic Basketball program. In the spring, we run our Interscholastic Track & Field program. Attendance for all Interscholastic Sports try-outs are mandatory.
Please see the caption below entitled, Interscholastic Programs forms for Interscholastic Sports. For your convenience, you may print forms individually, as needed. Additionally, "Interscholastic Sports packets" are created pre-season, inclusive of an introduction and all program forms with the exception of the Pay-to Play form. "Interscholastic Sports packets" are distributed to interested students during lunch waves, included in our Digital Backpack and Puma News, and are available in our front office. All program forms are due by a specific date set by the Athletic Director, in order to be eligible to try-out for any Interscholastic Sport.
Fall Club Cross Country
Club Cross Country begins mid-September and ends in late November. The fee for Club Cross Country is $125.00.

Boys' and Girls' Interscholastic Basketball tryouts (travel and play against other schools) are held in November. The Pay-to-Play fee for Interscholastic Basketball is $180.00.

Intramural Basketball after school (play against classmates) begins early in October and ends mid-November. A completed Parent/Guardian Permission form is required along with a $35.00 fee prior to participation. Please note that students do not need a physical to play Intramural Basketball.
The Interscholastic Soccer Program forms are due in early September. The season runs from September to late October. The Pay-to-Play fee for Interscholastic Soccer is $180.00. For home games, the boys play on the soccer field behind WJJMS, and the girls play on the soccer field at JJIS.

Spring Interscholastic Track & Field
Prior to participating, the Interscholastic Program forms are due around the second week of March. Boys and Girls Track & Field tryouts begin mid-March, with an informational meeting. The Pay-to-Play fee for Interscholastic Track & Field is $180.00.

Interscholastic Programs forms (forms that are in "Interscholastic Sports packets")
For all WJJMS Interscholastic Programs, the parents/guardians are required to submit the first three items listed below for students to be eligible to try out, and the fourth item once students are placed on a team:
1. A Parent/Guardian Permission form (please be sure to select which sport you are filling out the form for specifically)
2. A CT Pre-Participation Sports Evaluation form
Side 1 of the Connecticut Pre-Participation Sports Evaluation form needs to be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian, and also signed by the student.
Side 2 of this form needs to be filled out by a physician only if student does not have a current State of Connecticut Health Assessment Record on file with our nurse (dated within the last 13 months).
3. A current State of CT Health Assessment Record (on file with the school nurse, dated within the last 13 months)
4. A Pay-to-Play (participation fee) form. This form is updated as each sport's document is specifically created. All parents/guardians are required to pay a $180.00 fee for students to participate on any Interscholastic sports team, with a maximum of $540.00 per family per school year. The Pay-to-Play form is handed to the students once they are placed on any WJJMS Interscholastic sports team and should be returned by a specified date determined each season along with the payment.
Please know that the schedules are subject to change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances. If you have any question, please follow the information that was given to your child at the last practice or call our us at 860.537.2313 and we will be happy to assist you.
