  • Colchester Public Schools is actively recruiting for substitute positions. Colchester Public Schools is currently hiring for daily substitutes for the 2021-22 school year. A Bachelor's Degree is required and experience in a school setting is preferred. Certified substitutes will receive a daily rate of $125 and non-certified substitutes a daily rate of $100.   • May Conscious Discipline Workshop - Last one of the Series and it's a BONUS! May 18th, 6:30 - 8:00 pm - The Skills of Positive Intent and Consequences. Virtual and In person, free childcare provided! Learn how to see the best in others by accepting the moment as it is and create teaching moments when faced with challenging behavior. Learn how to help children learn from their mistakes so that they may change their behavior through natural consequences, logical consequences and problem solving. Colchester Youth and Social Services

  • Community Wellness Fair- May 15th - Join Colchester Youth and Social Services, William J. Johnston Middle School, and the Colchester Senior Center as we promote wellness at every age in our community. On Sunday, May 15th from 11am -2pm at William J Johnston Middle School, there will be agencies and services providers, on-site health screenings and vaccine clinic, and educational opportunities for every age group. Children in grades 2-4 will get the chance to participate in Gizmo’s mental health class and meet Gizmo the dog! There will be hands-on fun and takeaways, self-care resources including free chair massages, sound healing, animal therapy, and mental health and substance abuse education. Attend informational breakout sessions ranging from laughter therapy, to methods of reducing anxiety & stress, the Mock Bedroom, early signs of dementia, and senior scam prevention. Exercise your stress away with yoga, crossfit, and tai chi. You can refuel with lunch and a treat from Rustic StrEats and Kona Ice food trucks!  A community Suicide Prevention and Narcan training will be available from 12-12:45pm. Come out to this free event to keep Colchester and our surrounding communities healthy!

Colchester Soccer Club

  • Reminder! Fall Rec and Travel registration is open until May 31st, 2022. Register at the following link:  http://www.colchestersoccer.org.   Anyone trying out for Travel soccer needs to be registered prior to tryouts this Sunday, May 15th. Tryouts will be as needed with the following age levels scheduled for this Sunday 5/15 at Jack Jackter Elementary School Soccer Field:

4pm -  U9 boys and girls, U10 girls

5pm - U11 boys

6pm - U12 boys and U10 boys
