On Monday, March 30th, the 4th grade chorus had the opportunity to work with Connecticut composer Mr. Robert Hugh, who wrote “Hand in Hand,” a song they have been preparing for their spring concert.
During his visit, the students performed the piece for him and then participated in a workshop where he shared insights about the song. He spoke about his work as a composer and what inspires his music, giving students a better understanding of the creative process.
The chorus also had time to ask questions, and many students were curious about how songs are written and what it’s like to be a composer. This experience not only supported their rehearsal work but also helped students get a new perspective on the music they are learning.
We can't wait to hear the students perform “Hand in Hand” at their upcoming spring concert.
