Training Guide

The Training Guide is developed annually with support from the Professional Growth and Development Team. The Training Guide identifies the annual training requirements for most all positions in the District. Additional training may be assigned or offered by administration throughout the year.

The Guidelines for Professional Learning and Staff Development outline the approach for providing professional development for educators in the Colchester Public Schools.

Professional Leave and/or Reimbursement Request Form

Conference Presenter Approval Form

To be used by all staff requesting approval to attend professional development activities, work on curriculum, school initiatives or scoring. Complete the form, including any associated fees, print a copy, attach workshop documentation and payment information, and submit it to your school administrator for approval. The approved form must be forwarded to the Curriculum Office at least 3 days prior to the activity date or registration deadline. Final approval on the activity and any associated fees will be made by the Director of Teaching and Learning. You will receive the approved copy for your records. Reimbursement will be made after you have attended the activity and submitted all applicable confirmations and receipts associated with your leave.

Once you have received approval, enter your absence into the Frontline Absence Management System , using one of the following reasons:

Prof Dev - Any activity in which educators participate to learn or grow their knowledge and skill related to teaching and learning.

Curr Dev - Any activity in which educators participate to research, plan, design, or develop curriculum.

Training - Any activity in which educators participate to learn or grow their knowledge and skill in non-teaching and learning content.

Schl Init - Any activity in which staff participate that directly relates to the mission and goals of their school.

Presenter - Any activity in which staff are the presenters or professional developers at a conference not hosted by the district.
