No School, Delayed Opening, and/or Early Closing

No school or delayed opening school announcements will be broadcast through the television stations listed below, as well as School Messenger, our District website, and social media. In the event of early dismissal, parents will receive a phone call.

The following TV/Radio stations broadcast all Colchester Public Schools closings, delays, and early dismissals:

Colchester Public Schools will have a 2-hour delayed opening in the event of inclement weather. The schedule for a 2-hour delayed opening of school is as follows:

• PreK AM: Cancelled
• PreK PM: 12:40pm-3:10pm
• Grades K-5 and School Day PreK: 10:35am-3:15pm
• Grades 6-8: 9:18am-2:00pm
• Grades 9-12: 9:35am-2:15pm

EARLY CLOSING PROCEDURE

A decision to close school early due to inclement weather will generally be announced by 10:00 AM by the listed radio and TV stations. For unanticipated early closings, the District will text/email parents/caregivers and will be listed on the above TV and radio stations. When schools are dismissed early, the following will also be cancelled: PM Pre-K, all afternoon Early Childhood Program classes, extracurricular activities, and after-school community activities.

The schedule for an early closing is detailed below:

• PreK AM: 8:35-10:10am
• PreK PM: cancelled
• Grades K-5 and School Day PreK: 12:05pm
• Grades 6-8: 10:50am
• Grades 9-12: 11:05am
